types of ecosystems

There is two types of ecosystems terrestrial and aquatic

A terrestrial ecosystem is a land-based population of species and the interactions of biotic and abiotic components in a particular area.

These are types of terrestrial ecosystems

rainforest - The tropical rainforest is a hot, humid ecosystem in which it rains all year. It is notable for its extensive canopies of plants, which are divided into three groups. The uppermost layer, or canopy, is made up of enormous trees that may reach heights of 75 metres or more.

deciduous forest - The deciduous forest is distinguished by trees that shed their leaves at the end of the growing season.

boreal forest- Boreal forest is a coniferous forest that grows on boggy land and is often coated in moss.

Grassland  -The grassland biome consists of broad open of grassy areas. They are sustained by grazing animals and regular fires.

Desert - Desert ecosystems are dry environments with little vegetation, extreme temperatures, and less than 10 inches of precipitation each year. Because the humidity in the atmosphere is so low, temperatures do not regulate themselves. Deserts can be hot, dry, or exceedingly cold.

Tundra  - Tundra ecosystems are treeless environments located in the Arctic and on mountain summits where the weather is cold and windy and rainfall is scarce. Tundra regions are often blanketed in snow, yet in the summer, wildflowers bloom in abundance.

fresh water
- Freshwater ecosystems include lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and wetlands with low salt concentrations (often less than 1%) that function as habitats

marine - Marine ecosystems are aquatic settings with high concentrations of dissolved salt. These  include the open ocean, deep-sea ocean, and coastal marine ecosystems, all of which have distinct physical and biological properties.
